On the floating isles of Aerith, Nimuessa teaches young mages to read the wind. One morning a tired traveller climbs the cloud stairs, looks at her and says her name as if he has said it a thousand times. She has never seen him before.
Episode II. Pages torn out
Her own spellbook has twelve pages missing. In the margin, in her handwriting, is a warning: do not look for him. She looks for him. His name is Rennic, and he is a map maker from the ground, where sky mages are forbidden to go.
Episode III. The first memory returns
As the spell weakens, memories come back one at a time. A rainy market. A borrowed coat. A promise on a bridge. Each memory makes her happier and more afraid, because she cannot remember why she chose to forget.
Episode IV. The reason
The last page is hidden in Rennic’s map case. The council of Aerith had ordered her to choose: give him up or watch the council cut the cloud stairs and drop his village into fog. She cast the spell to save him from herself.
Episode V. Cutting the stairs
The council learns he is back and orders the stairs cut at sunset. Nimuessa opens her spellbook and writes a new spell on a blank page. Not to forget, but to make the stairs strong enough that nobody can cut them again.
Episode VI. Season finale
The spell holds, and she remembers all of it. Rennic asks if she regrets the years she lost. On mylovewell Nimuessa wants to hear which memory you would never give up, no matter what it cost.
