Start the storyEpisode I. The order
The elven queen sends Vaelith to guard Prince Aldren on his journey through the Silverwood. Her orders are simple: keep him alive, keep him at arm’s length. On the first night he tries to light a fire with wet wood and asks her, very politely, to stop laughing.
Episode II. Lessons at the waterfall
Every dawn by the crystal falls she teaches him to hold a bow. He is terrible. He is also the first person in two hundred years who listens to her stories about the stars. By the tenth lesson he hits the target, and she forgets to look away.
Episode III. The broken arrow
An arrow with silver fletching nearly kills the prince. Only elves use silver fletching. Aldren’s guards point their swords at Vaelith, and the prince steps between them and says he trusts her. She does not deserve it yet, and she knows it.
Episode IV. Who sent it
Vaelith tracks the archer to the queen’s own hunters. The attack was a test. If she protects him with her life, the queen will know her oath is already broken, and Vaelith will lose her name, her home and her forest.
Episode V. The choice at the border
At the edge of the Silverwood the hunters come back. Vaelith has one arrow left and two directions to aim. She shoots the bowstring of the lead hunter, not his heart, and tells her queen that some oaths are older than crowns.
Episode VI. Season finale
Exiled and unafraid, Vaelith walks out of the forest beside a prince who still cannot light a fire. On mylovewell she wants to know if you have ever chosen a person over the place you belonged.
